Sars-CoV-2, or the virus better known as Corona, has unfortunately also arrived in Switzerland! My tip for this: Keep calm and implement a few simple but effective measures.
Even infected persons without symptoms are contagious
When a new pathogen appears, the first thing people try to do is to stop it from spreading, but in the case of the coronavirus, this has not been successful. One reason for this is that infected persons without symptoms are also contagious. It is now important to slow down the spread as effectively as possible. This is done through targeted hygiene measures. If the spread can be slowed down, this also relieves the burden on our healthcare systems. We can and must all help here!
Elderly people and the chronically ill are particularly at risk
According to Chinese researchers, 81 percent of infections are mild (such as a mild cold), 14 percent are severe and 5 percent are critical. The mortality rate is about one in 100 people. It is therefore important to protect those at risk. So, if you experience suspicious symptoms and you are not in this group, don’t rush to the emergency department, but conserve resources for severe cases. If you have concerns, contact your primary care physician by phone for advice. You certainly shouldn’t be around high-risk people if symptoms are present.
Everyone should adhere to the following recommendations
Keep your distance!
During this time, refrain from shaking hands or greeting kisses and stay away from crowds as much as possible (e.g. public transport, avoid non-urgent meetings ect).
Washing hands several times a day – simple and effective
Washing hands, if done properly, is very effective in preventing the spread of viruses. However, there are a few things you should keep in mind:
- Wet your hands first
- Soap your hands well with liquid soap (no “block soap”, as viruses can stick to it): Lather the palms inside and outside, up to the wrists, it is especially important to clean the fingers and fingertips well, as well as the nail bed and under the nails (keep them short!)
- Then rinse well and be sure to dry completely, preferably with disposable towels, or change the towel often at home.
- The whole thing should take 30 seconds to be really effective!
- Hands can suffer from frequent washing, to prevent dry or even inflamed and cracked skin, lotion often.
To disinfect the hands is not really necessary in normal everyday life, we prefer to leave the disinfectants to doctors’ offices and hospitals. Here, too, the following applies anyway: Without correct application for 30 seconds, it is of too little use!
My personal recommendation to support the immune system
Take daily:
- Vitamin D 8000-10 000IE
- Omega-3 EPA + DHA > 1000 mg
- EM Multiferment 2x 10 ml
- Neovital 1 tsp
Move as often as possible in the fresh air, e.g. during a walk in the woods, and soak up sunlight, which is not only good for your immune system, but also for your psyche!
This helps against all viruses – fortunately also against Corona
If, despite all hygiene measures, cold and flu symptoms become noticeable, you should immediately take Artemisia capsules. At least 8 – 12 capsules on the first and second day (4 – 6 x daily 2 capsules one hour before meals), after that you will be pretty sure to be healthy again. Otherwise, continue with 4 x 2 capsules until you feel healthy.
